We had a great family weekend. Lots of adventures and quality time together. That’s what three day weekends are for, right?
On Monday, we had every intention of going to downtown Louisville for the Labor Day Parade. It is their 76th, which I find fairly impressive for a town of this size.
Sadly, the parade coincided with morning nap time. Olivia’s, not ours. We joined up with the fun at the Community Park though. There were vendor booths, live music, a kids play area with climbing walls and bounce houses, and a….splash pad!
You remember #32, don’t you? You know, “Take Olivia to the splash pad on Pearl Street Mall once she is walking. (Any day now.)” Well, my friends, that day has come. I know, I know. It’s not Pearl Street Mall. But, with only 16 days left of summer, I’m going to take what I can get.
Besides, homegirl is a walking machine! Bonus: she loves bath time. Obviously, when you combine those two things you get a child who will race into a splash pad all giggles and splashing.
Or not.
This was about as close as she got on her own two feet. Even in Daddy’s arms she wasn’t quite sure at first.
She warmed up to it eventually, but never really toddled around like I was expecting.
Ah, well. There’s always next summer!
